About Me
I was born in Canberra, Australia, but have lived in Brisbane for most of my life. I'm currently studying electrical and aerospace engineering at the University of Queensland, but I have previously been employed as a freelance web developer and as a developer at a software development company working on traffic management systems.
I am very interested in engineering and making things, as well as computer programming, photography, and shooting and editing video and film. I mainly use and program on and for Linux and Mac OS X, but I also use more widely used systems (of somewhat lower quality) for my video and design work.
I love snowboarding, and also enjoy rock climbing and playing golf and volleyball. One of my more unusual interests though is fire twirling, which I have been doing for about three or four years now. You can see some interesting time lapses of this in my Fire gallery.
I work as a freelance web developer, and specialise in programming with PHP and interacting with MySQL databases. I run my own server (which this site is running on) on Linux, which is really fun to play around with. Unfortunately my internet connection is neither fast enough or reliable enough for it to be as good as I'd like, but it is useful for testing sites.
